Job Responsibilities
- Own the responsibility for the execution of specific projects or defianable portions of larger projects
- Architect, design and continue enhancing the teams back-end collection and processing systems in AWS
- Architect, design and build scalable, reliable, cost effective, and high quality solutions in AWS
- Be part of the planning and specification authoring for feature development
- Provide technical guidance to junior software developers and devops and coordinate technical activities in collaboration with leads and product owners
- Develop and oversee the development of software precisely meeting specifications
- Monitor performance and advise any necessary infrastructure changes
- Drive system and database architecture and software development within the team of developers through delivery and successful deployment to production
- Drive alignment between this team and all downstream users of the data output generated by this platform
- Engage and collaborate with other areas and stakeholders within our org such as Mobile developers, testers, Devops and Support team
- Suggest and implement best practices that can be used by the developers and devops
Job Skills & Experience:
- Experience in software development in Java, Scala
- Programming skills in languages such as Python, Node.js is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in AWS, EMR, Serverless architecture
- Good knowledge on Apache Spark and its ecosystem including Spark Core, Spark SQL, memory management, and optimization
- Strong background in AWS Cloud services, including:
- Big Data processing (EMR, Glue, Athena).
- EMR cluster configuration and optimization.
- Storage solutions (S3, DynamoDB, RDS).
- Micro services architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, Route53)
- Real-time data processing (Kinesis).
- Notification services (SNS, SQS)
- Orchestration (Step Functions, Data Pipeline).
- Logging (Cloudwatch)
- Cost management and monitoring strategies
- Experience in Agile software development methodology
- Experience in source control like Git
- Experience in establishing and setting up successful production CI/CD pipelines and workflows, GitLab CI preferred
- Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and appropriate tactical plans quickly with commitment to excellence
- Understanding of rule-based processing and decision making systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
